Hi, I'm Panashe Foromani

BABCP-Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

I'm a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over six years of clinical experience, including over four years delivering psychological therapies across the full range of the NHS stepped-care model. I began my career as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, delivering guided self-help and early intervention for anxiety and depression. That work taught me how powerful the right tool, offered at the right moment, can be. I went on to train and qualify as a High Intensity CBT Therapist, and I now work with adults navigating depression, PTSD, OCD, health anxiety, social anxiety and specific phobias using structured, evidence-based approaches.

Alongside my clinical roles, I spent two years as a Mental Health Advisor in a university setting, supporting students through crisis, transition and the pressure of balancing life with study. That role taught me to hold both the clinical picture and the practical reality of someone's life at the same time, and to make psychological ideas genuinely accessible rather than academic.

An approach built around how you actually think

As someone diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD, I apply my professional training and experience of working with neurodivergent individuals in a way that's empathetic, practical, and tailored to each client's lived experience. I also know from both sides of the room that no two minds work the same way. Standard approaches often assume a brain that thinks in straight lines. My approach is to adapt the therapy to the person, not the other way round. Whether that means restructuring how we use sessions, rethinking what "homework" looks like, or simply pacing things differently, treatment is tailored to how you actually think, process and live.

Culture, identity and belief are welcome here

I moved to the UK as a child and have spent my life navigating questions of culture, identity and belonging, which shapes how I hold this work alongside the clinical expertise. Across every role I've held, I've also worked with people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and communities, including many who had good reason to doubt whether services were built with them in mind. That experience shaped one of my deepest convictions as a therapist, and it's the conviction Pamoyo is built on: your background shapes how you experience the world, but you define what it means to you. Culture, community, family and spiritual beliefs or lack of are welcome in the room to whatever extent you bring them. My job is to understand your world well enough to make therapy fit it.

You're the expert on your life. I bring the clinical toolkit, and together we find what actually fits you.

What working together actually looks like

Sessions run for 50 minutes over video, on a structured 12 sessions programme as standard (extendable to 15–20 sessions where the assessment points to a more complex picture). The first few sessions are assessment and formulation, mapping out what's actually keeping things going, before we move into structured treatment. We track progress periodically using measures like the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, not because a number captures everything that matters, but because it gives us both a shared, honest reference point beyond "I think I feel a bit better".

While CBT is the structured backbone of how we work, I don't apply it rigidly. Sessions also draw on other evidence-based approaches, adapting to what's actually in front of us rather than forcing a fixed protocol. Because I keep my caseload intentionally small, you get properly present, unhurried attention each week, not just a slot in a diary. I lead human first, therapist second, which means I bring my personality into the room, quirks included, so you get a therapist who feels authentically human.
